Levante Gate Development REFUSED

Published: 09 September 2018

I am delighted to report that the Levante Gate application was REFUSED at committee.

There was serious debate about the merits and implications of the proposal and the committee voted to reject by 6 votes to two on the grounds of policies S10 Open countryside and S11 Area of Attractive Landscape.

I would like to thank everyone for their advice, support and encouragement during the campaign which is nearly a year old. There was a magnificent turnout which I am sure had a huge impact on the committee members. I would particularly like to thank Councillor David Hopkins and our planning consultant, Bruton Knowles, for their invaluable planning advice. They and our other speakers Tim Wheaton and Peter Bellingham, did a magnificent job and played no small part in the refusal. This also applies to Graham Bushell, the Parish Council and the Residents Association who supported us all the way.

I trust and hope this is the end of the matter but only time will tell...…

Thank you everyone.

Paul
